Why support modest women?

Modesty is a touchy subject since many attempts are made to force modesty on all women regardless of age, race, culture, sexual orientation, nationality, or religion in American society. Many women choose not to be modest and are fighting to be accepted for their decision. Since there is a trend of forced modesty, it can make the women that choose to be modest seem like they are working against the feminist message of other women. It is important to remember that some women do choose to dress modestly and do not feel forced. This does not mean that they should be looked down upon or told they hold back other women. They should be respected for their choices. Clothing choice is a complicated subject, and no one should be told how they are to dress or why they should dress a certain way. Whether or not a woman chooses to be modest should not negate the power other women perceive her to have. All women should empower women because every woman is beautiful. What makes her special is how she chooses to live her life. Before judging someone, you should never forget that a woman may feel beautiful just the way she is. Many women feel beautiful wearing absolutely nothing, and other women feel beautiful fully covered. No one should be putting down another woman for her clothes regardless of her modest level. Trying to get the message across that women should have autonomy when bashing women who choose to dress modestly is contradictory.

Part of our message here at Modest gal is that every woman should be treasured and be given the freedom to feel beautiful no matter her size, budget, ethics, or modesty level. Our mission is to bring modest women more options for their clothing. Living in America and trying to find modest clothing can be a challenge because of the culture. Nothing is wrong with the culture accepting less modesty; however, modest women should not be forgotten. Here at ModestGal, we will bring modest women clothes that are modest and eco and human friendly. We refuse to use cheap overseas labor and ethically source all of our material. This way, no one has to give up their ethical views to buy clothing.
